Airbrush Tan

With autumn rolling around the corner, the last few days of summer are here. While we couldn’t make the most out of the summer this year due to the COVID-19 crisis, people are flocking to the beaches to make the most out of the sun.

For many, summer means lazing around the beach and getting suntanned. And with winter just around the corner, sun tanning will become a luxury. Luckily, there are plenty of ways to tan all year-round. Sunless tanning or indoor tanning technique offers tanners a perfect solution for instant and natural-looking tan. Advanced tanning techniques like spray tanning and automated tanning have made tanning easy and quick. Instead of spending countless hours baking under the sun, you can check into a vertical tanning bed and come out with that glowing tan within 15 minutes.

While it’s easier to get an airbrush tan, one must follow precautions to avoid an uneven tan look. In this blog, we are going to discuss some dos and don’ts before going for airbrush tanning.

Exfoliation is necessary

The first step to tanning is exfoliation. When going for an airbrush tan session, prepare your skin by thorough exfoliation. It’s best to exfoliate your body one night before the session. Exfoliation removes the dead cells from the skin surface and opens the pores. This allows the tan solution to seep into the skin and leave a longer-lasting tan. Scrubbing also ensures that the tanning bronzers penetrates the skin evenly and give a natural tan. However, after the airbrush session, one must avoid exfoliation as it can scrub away all the tan solution.

Do not put on makeup

We all love to put on makeup when heading out. However, it would be best if you ditched makeup when going out for slim sculpt services or an airbrush session.

Makeup products like lotions and foundations clog the pores. If your skin pores are blocked, they won’t be able to absorb the bronzer properly. This can lead to uneven and flawed tan. Besides this, some ingredients in makeup products can react badly with the bronzers and cause skin irritation and inflammation.

Don’t apply moisturizing lotion

Keeping skin moisturized and hydrated is a must. However, there are some exceptions when one should avoid moisturizing the skin. Airbrush tanning is one such occasion when you should not use skin lotion. Like makeup, skin lotion can block the tanning solution and prevent it from setting evenly. Before heading out to the tanning booth, skip the makeup and moisturizing ritual.

Do not accessorize

Besides makeup and lotion, you must not wear any accessories. Accessories may block the tanning solution from setting on the skin and leave streaks and creases.

Don’t wear tight-fitted clothes

When going for an airbrush tanning session, be mindful of how to dress for your appointment. It’s advised to avoid wearing clothes that are too tight and uncomfortable. Also, you should not wear light-shaded garments as they can get stained quickly.
